Sports Premium

P.E at Galley Common Infant School

At Galley Common we believe that P.E not only contributes to the physical development of pupils but also develops crucial skills and attributes required for the modern world. We place a high importance on delivering the P.E curriculum, whilst also offering a range of physical and sport opportunities. Our aim is for all children to leave Galley Common being physically literate, whilst also being a confident thinker who is involved and engaged in their learning.

On this page you will find information about our P.E curriculum at Galley Common. You will also find impact reports on how we have budgeted for the P.E premium.

P.E and sports premium

What is the Sports Premium?

The government is providing funding of £320 million per annum for the academic year 2022/2023 to provide new and substantial primary school sport funding.

The funding is to:

  • develop or add to the PE and sport activities that your school already offers
  • build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.

Each school will receive £16.000, and an additional £10 per pupil.  The money can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

GOV.UK - PE and sport premium for primary schools.
