Here you will find the exciting things we have been doing in Year 1.

                 Welcome to Class 3 - September 2025

A great big welcome from Mrs Shilton and Miss Jamieson 

PE days for Class 3 are TUESDAY and THURSDAY.  Children should come to school on these days in their PE kit and earrings must be removed prior to coming to school, any problems then please speak to the Class Teacher.

We started off with a Roald Dahl day!

We had an exciting and informative visit from the fire service. 

We have been busy learning our Phonics.

After a week of History learning, we went to take part in a special Remembrance time. 

We enjoyed our IT, learning to use a drawing programme.

Art Work - Woven wonders

Children had a wonderful time learning different techniques for creating artwork.  They learnt to wrap, plait, weave and thread.

 

Year 1 had a special visit from the local fire service to encourage awareness of how to keep safe!

In year 1, we enjoyed exploring musical instruments, learning about the tempo and exploring sounds using our voices, bodies and instruments. 

Computing 

In year 1 we have been exploring computers and learning about how to keep safe online. This term we have been able to log on to the computer, create an avatar and use programmes by following a set of instructions.  

Year 1 have enjoyed wonderful sports enrichment sessions.  They have learnt a variety of sports run by a great coach.

The school attended a lovely remembrance service at St. Peter's Church.  They listened respectfully then laid poppies to remember the fallen.

Year 1 made some wonderful smoothies in DT! The taste tested fruits and juices and designed their own smoothie to make.
