Vision and Values

Children are at the heart of all we do. Our aim is to ensure that each and every child leaves us fulfilling their maximum potential and is ready for the next stage of their learning.

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

We Dream… We Believe… We Achieve...

We want our children to dream that they can aspire to be anything they want to be, believe in themselves and their goals, and achieve their vision through hard work, perseverance and commitment to their goals.

OUR MISSION

Working together, hand in hand, to all be the best we can

Help parents, staff, Governors and other people in our community to work together, to be good members of our community and think about other people

Think about, begin to understand and enjoy experiences based on countries, religious beliefs and cultures that differ from our own.

NURTURING

Make sure people feel important and cared for, being able to demonstrate these attributes with others.

ENJOY AND ACHIEVE

Provide an environment that enables children to learn and achieve with enjoyment.

MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING

The World Health Organisation defines mental health and wellbeing as “a state of wellbeing in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community”.

At Galley Common Infant School, we recognise the importance of and are committed to supporting the positive mental health and emotional wellbeing of our children, staff and school community. Our aim is to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment where children feel happy and safe.

Various policies (including PSHE, SEN, Early Years) outline our whole school approach to wellbeing which enables us to promote and support positive mental health for every person in school.

Positive mental health is everybody’s responsibility – we all have a role to play. We understand that everyone experiences different life challenges, and that each of us may need help to cope with them sometimes.  We understand that anyone and everyone may need additional emotional support.

OUR RULES…

  • Take care of ourselves, others and our school
  • Listen carefully
  • Try your best
