Welcome to Class 1 - September 2018!
Rainforest January 2019
We have been learning about the rainforest. We learnt about the 4 different layers of the rainforest, and created our own rainforest. We also looked at the animals that live in the different layers. Here are some pictures of our learning.
Have a look at some of the activities the children did in Class 1 last year!
Kingsbury Water Park - June 2018
We had a great day at Kingsbury Water Park. The children had a go at lots of different activities, including pond dipping, sketching flowers in the meadow and hiding in the long meadow grass!
We hope you enjoy looking at the photographs.
Fathers Day Afternoon - June 2018
As a treat for Father's Day the children invited an important person in their life into school for the afternoon. Lots of fun activities took place both in the classroom and in the outside classroom. The children loved showing them around.
Foundation Stage Wedding - May 2018
In Foundation Stage the children get to learn about different religions and how they celebrate occasions throughout the year.
They leant about how lots of Christians get married in a church. To finish the topic a mock wedding was set up where the children sent out invitations, made favours, wrapped presents and finally attended St Peter's Church to attend the wedding. It was a beautiful day with everyone dressing up in their best clothes.
Mothers Pamper Morning - February 2018
We had a lovely Monday morning in reception. Our mums enjoyed being pampered and spoilt by their children.
Reading morning January 2018
We were very excited to invite parents in to join our class for a reading morning. We completed a range of phonic activities, that will help us as we learn to read.
The children loved learning with their parents by their side! Parents commented on how valuable the morning was to help them with ideas to help their child with reading at home.
Polesworth Abbey November 2017
This term, to help with our Christmas learning, we visited Polesworth Abbey.
While here the children were told all about the first Christmas. They visited the tax office, to pay their taxes to the tax collector and sign the census. After we then had a mission to find the star. Underneath the star we found the stable. Inside the stable there was such a special sight..... Mary, Joseph and newly born baby Jesus were inside, complete with angels and sheep!! The children sang 'Twinkle Twinkle' as a present to the new baby Jesus.
After, the children dressed up as special characters from the Nativity, to act out the special Christmas story.
Hartshill Hayes October 2017
Our first school trip was an autumnal day at Hartshill Hayes.
The children were very excited to go on a coach for the very first time as class 1! When we arrived at Hartshill Hayes, we were looking for signs of Autumn, the children spotted squirrels, autumnal leaves, acorns and conkers.
After lunch, the children worked in teams to build dens. They were amazing!!
We had such a wonderful time on our first school trip.
