Our Christmas this year started with our annual Christmas Bake Off. Children from each year group worked with their parents making Christmas biscuits to share at home and also to sell at the Christmas Fayre. Mrs Downing, instructed them in making some delicious Christmas gingerbread biscuit and mince pies. Some brilliant cooking skills - well done to you all.
Our Friends of Galley Common did us proud this year at the Christmas Fayre - they arranged for Santa to have his own Grotto in our Sensory Garden - it was a wonderful evening! Thank you to everyone who helped out.
Christmas would not be the same without the school nativity! Our children did us proud this year with three lovely performances - Year two told the Nativity Story through a beautiful Christingle Service, Year 1 performed 'A King is Born' and our Reception children performed 'The Nativity '. A big 'WELL DONE' to all our budding actors and actresses and also a big thank you to our parents for the beautiful costumes sent in.
Our Reception children also performed their nativity to the grandparents and visitors from the village. The Y1 and Y2 children sang Christmas carols for them as well.
We also held a 'helpers' assembly, when everyone who helps in school was invited. The Y2 children painted some beautiful Christmas keyrings to give out as a small token of our appreciation. Thank you to all our helpers!
During this assembly we said a sad goodbye to Mrs Goode. The children had made her some wonderful cards - she will be missed by everyone!!
On Thursday we had our Christmas buffet lunch, followed by class parties - with everyone wearing a Christmas jumper!
